Eww!
A new taste sensation has arrived in Our Town. The Eel and Pie House, featuring Jellied Eels, Hot Eels, Room-Temperature Eels, and pies with some sort of meat in them, has deposited itself at Lake Bowman.
Owner/Operator Montgomery "Cockney Joe" Manze recently arrived from the town of Peckham in his native England. He told us, "I'm sure that our eel edibles will become as popular in The States as kidney pie and blood wine. And don't call me 'Cockney Joe'."
Cockney Joe uses only the freshest ingredients. "Every morning we dredge the lake for eels," he said. "The other ingredients are locally sourced from Anachronism's Used Food Mart. And stop calling me 'Cockney Joe'."
The Eel and Pie House's prices are stated in pounds, pence, ha'-pennies, crowns, and whatever else passes for money in the British Isles. But they accept dollars, yen, francs, renminbi, rubles, leks, dinars, pesos, drams, takas, rupee, marks, guilders, krone, bitcoin, rands, dinars, quetzal, and shekels. No euros.
How has business been so far for Cockney Joe and his Eel Wagon? "Everybody has been so welcoming and friendly. I'm really looking forward to our first sale. And if you call me 'Cockney Joe' one more time."
After extending our personal welcome to Cockney Joe…..
